Clients of Consolidated HRM Services, a leading multinational company, is looking for a Layout Lead Engineer in the Environment & Energy Sector to handle critical plant engineering and layout design activities for their green hydrogen and renewable fuel projects.

We are seeking an experienced professional with strong expertise in 3D plant layout, mechanical design coordination, and interdisciplinary project collaboration. This exciting opportunity is based at Chennai.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create 3D plant layouts and equipment designs in coordination with the project teams.
  • Review and release designs under consideration of contractual and internal requirements.
  • Maintain close collaboration with colleagues in other departments and locations.
  • Coordinate deliverables with other relevant disciplines (electrical, automation, civil, etc.).
  • Participate in safety evaluations and in the preparation of installation procedures.
  • Optimize and develop new design concepts in collaboration with process engineering and R&D.
  • Take responsibility to coordinate mechanical engineering tasks within projects, depending on experience.

SKILLSET REQUIRED

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline with 11 to 16 years of experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in plant layout or machine engineering, with a background within the petrochemical industry as Lead Layout Engineer.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD programs, Aveva E3D is essential.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO/EN standards; additional knowledge about US standards is a plus.
  • Ability to consult with customers and notified bodies about technical design requirements.
  • Ability to explain design solutions in an engaging manner.
  • Experience to perform acceptance tests and to supervise installation during start-up.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel for project requirements.
