Role Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with focus on back-end development to join Page Express team in India.

You will work in an Agile team alongside front-end, back-end and quality engineers developing capabilities for the business critical applications in our flagship customer workflows product, LSEG Workspace.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong proficiency in Java and , possess a deep understanding of cloud platforms, and have a proven track record of delivering scalable and efficient software solutions.
 

Page Express (PX) is a Content Management System with low-code/no-code capabilities. PX is easy to use and intuitive, yes powerful, enabling business and product team members to build content-based applications and publish them to our customers within minutes

It provides access to a wide range of data sources, rich data visualisation components and navigation features, enabling the application creators to select the layout/structure of the application, set of reusable components and content items, and define the navigation and integration options, seamlessly integrating the app with LSEG Workspace eco-system.

The team is responsible for the full stack: from an HTML client to its REST web services and databases.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end systems using Java and , ensuring scalability, security, and high performance

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code

• Conduct code reviews and establish standard processes for software development

System Design and Architecture:

• Architect, deploy, and run applications on AWS and Azure platforms

• Optimise cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance

• Participate in architectural decisions for back-end systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements

• Collaborate with Product, Design, DevOps engineers to build end-to-end solutions

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues

• Implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions

Project Management:

• Participate in sprint planning, task estimation, and roadmap development

• Ensure timely delivery of projects, meeting both technical and business objectives

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development

• Proficiency in Java,

• Experience in Basic Linux

• Knowledge and experience with Document Databases (MongoDB) and Relational Databases (Postgres)

• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, including AWS (e.g. ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and Azure (e.g. App Services, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB)

• Experience with containerisation tools like Docker

• In-depth knowledge of RESTful API design and micro-services architecture

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Excellent problem-solving skills, multitasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Java Vert.X is a plus

• Knowledge of security and compliance standards

• Exposure to serverless architecture and event-driven systems

• Enjoys the challenge of solving problems with strong analytical and solving skills

• Ability to self motivation on learning and skilled at drives themselves through to completion and empower others

• Good interpersonal skills, work remotely with other team members and others development teams
