Job Title: DBT ELT Engineer

Location: Hyderabad, Bangalore and Nagpur

Notice Period: immediate to 30 days

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable DBT ELT Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DBT, advanced SQL skills, and a solid understanding of data modeling and architecture principles. This role involves building scalable ELT pipelines, designing robust data models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Must-Have Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, window functions, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience in data warehouse and data mart design (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Solid understanding of ELT architecture, data lineage, and modular transformation practices.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience implementing data quality checks, unit testing, and documentation within DBT.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
  • Exposure to data visualization platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Working knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and privacy/security best practices.
  • Experience with slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), surrogate keys, and data normalization techniques.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence concepts and how data models support reporting.
  • Experience in Agile environments and tools like JIRA.
