Job Purpose:
To drive business growth in the assigned region by developing and executing sales strategies for agricultural products. The role involves managing the regional sales team, achieving sales targets, expanding market share, and maintaining strong relationships with channel partners, dealers, and farmers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned region.
- Develop and implement regional sales plans aligned with company objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and expansion areas for agri inputs (Seeds / Fertilizers / Crop Protection / Bio-products / Agri Equipment).
- Drive business through channel partners, distributors, and retail network.
2. Team Management
- Lead, guide, and motivate a team of Area Sales Managers, Field Officers, and Sales Executives.
- Set performance goals, monitor KPIs, and ensure timely feedback and performance reviews.
- Conduct regular field visits and on-the-job training for the sales team.
3. Channel & Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers, and key farmers.
- Ensure proper stock management, order booking, and timely collections.
- Resolve distributor and customer issues efficiently.
4. Market Intelligence & Planning
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing.
- Provide insights for demand forecasting and business planning.
- Coordinate with marketing for promotional activities, farmer meetings, and demonstrations.
5. Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with supply chain, marketing, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Submit periodic reports on sales performance, market feedback, and competitor analysis.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Regional sales target achievement (%).
- Market share growth in assigned territory.
- New dealer/channel expansion.
- Collection efficiency and credit control.
- Team productivity and retention rate.
Qualification & Experience:
- Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Agriculture / Agri-Business Management / MBA (Marketing preferred).
- Experience: 8 -12 years of experience in agri input sales (Seeds, Fertilizers, Crop Protection, or Allied Products).
- Proven track record of managing large sales teams and achieving sales targets.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Analytical mindset with good market understanding.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
