Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for micro controllers and embedded processors.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers during board design and bring-up phases.
  • Debug, test, and validate firmware on hardware platforms.
  • Optimize code for memory usage and performance.
  • Develop and maintain firmware documentation, including design specifications and test plans.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define firmware requirements and deliverables.
  • Conduct code reviews and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
  • Support manufacturing and field teams in troubleshooting and resolving firmware-related issues.
  • Experience with micro controllers (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC, MSP430) and RTOS environments.
  • Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in firmware development for embedded systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with low-power design and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation.
  • Knowledge of secure boot, firmware-over-the-air (FOTA), or other embedded security practices.
  • Experience with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar) in safety-critical applications.
