1Role Purpose:
The Executive - Electrical (Power/GIS) is a critical on-site management role within the Construction
Department, responsible for direct supervision, coordination, and management of all Electrical Power
distribution systems, with a specialized focus on Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) installations and
associated High/Medium Voltage (HV/MV) infrastructure for new-age data center projects. This role
ensures that all electrical power systems are installed strictly in accordance with approved designs,
specifications, stringent quality standards, safety protocols, and demanding project schedules. The
Executive - Electrical (Power/GIS) will be instrumental in delivering the robust, reliable, and redundant
power backbone essential for continuous data center operations.Education : Bachelor's Degree or
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision & Execution:
o Provide direct, day-to-day on-site supervision and management of all electrical power
construction activities, including:
GIS Installation: Oversight of GIS equipment erection, busbar connections, gas
filling, and testing as per OEM guidelines.
Transformer Installation: Power and distribution transformers.
HV/MV/LV Switchgear & Panels: Installation of switchboards, PCCs, MCCs, PDBs,
RPPs.
Bus Duct & Cable Management: Installation of bus duct systems, cable trays,
raceways, and power cabling (HV, MV, LV).
Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems: Implementation of robust earthing
grids and lightning protection.
Backup Power Systems: Installation of Diesel Generator (DG) sets,
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, and battery banks.
o Ensure all work is performed in strict adherence to approved detailed design drawings
(SLDs, layouts), specifications, method statements, and project plans.
o Direct and monitor the work of electrical contractors, sub-contractors, and site labor,
ensuring productivity and quality of installation.
Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC):
o Implement and enforce stringent quality control procedures for all electrical works (e.g.,
cable termination quality, insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, protection relay
testing, functional checks for switchgear).
o Conduct specific QA/QC for GIS installations, including gas leakage checks, pressure
monitoring, and cleanliness.
o Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and rectify non-conforming works
promptly.
o Coordinate with the central QA/QC team for necessary material testing, third-party
inspections, and quality documentation.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance:
o Ensure strict adherence to all company and statutory HSE policies and regulations for all
electrical construction activities, especially concerning high voltage safety,
lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, arc flash mitigation, confined space entry (for
substations), and hot work permits.
o Conduct daily safety briefings, site hazard identification, and risk assessments for
electrical tasks.
o Monitor safe work practices, proper use of PPE, and maintain a safe working
environment.
Schedule & Progress Monitoring:
o Monitor daily and weekly progress of electrical works against the approved project
schedule.
o Prepare and submit accurate daily/weekly progress reports, highlighting achievements,
challenges, and forecasted activities.
o Identify potential delays and proactively propose corrective actions to the Senior
Executive - Construction (MEPF).
Drawing Interpretation & Coordination:
o Interpret complex electrical engineering drawings (Single Line Diagrams - SLDs,
Schematics, Layouts, Cable Schedules), ensuring the construction team understands and
executes per the latest revisions.
o Proactively identify potential conflicts or discrepancies between electrical,
civil/structural, and mechanical drawings (e.g., routing clashes, equipment clearances,
penetrations, power supply for mechanical loads) and coordinate with the Design
Department via RFIs (Requests for Information) for timely resolution.
Material & Equipment Management:
o Coordinate with the Procurement team for timely delivery and logistics of electrical
materials and critical equipment (GIS, transformers, switchgear, UPS, DG sets).
o Oversee proper storage, handling, and preservation of sensitive electrical equipment on
site to prevent damage or deterioration.
o Conduct quality checks on incoming materials and equipment as per specifications and
approved submittals.
Contractor Performance Management:
o Monitor the performance and productivity of electrical contractors, ensuring their work
aligns with contractual agreements and project targets.
o Review contractor method statements and risk assessments for electrical installation,
testing, and commissioning activities.
Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Support:
o Provide active technical support during all phases of electrical system testing and
commissioning, including pre-commissioning checks, individual equipment functional
testing, integrated system testing, and final client acceptance.
o Specifically support GIS testing procedures (gas pressure, partial discharge, CT/VT tests).
o Ensure all necessary test forms, checklists, and reports are accurately completed by the
contractors and commissioning agents.
Measurement & Billing Support:
o Support the quantity surveying and commercial teams in verifying measurements of
completed electrical works for contractor's interim and final billing.
o Ensure accurate record-keeping of executed quantities.
Site Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain comprehensive site records, including site diaries, inspection reports, meeting
minutes, daily progress reports, and photographical evidence of work.
o Prepare punch lists for electrical works and ensure timely closure.
Key Deliverables
Timely Completion of Electrical Power/GIS Works: Execution of all electrical power infrastructure
as per the approved project schedule.
High-Quality Construction: Delivery of electrical systems meeting specified quality standards and
design requirements, especially for critical HV/MV and GIS installations.
Safety Compliance: Zero major electrical work-related safety incidents on site.
Daily/Weekly Progress Reports: Accurate and timely reporting of electrical construction
progress.
QA/QC Records & Reports: Comprehensive documentation of quality inspections, tests, and nonconformance reports for electrical works.
Effective Site Coordination: Prompt resolution of site-level electrical issues and seamless
coordination with other disciplines.
Verified Contractor Bills: Support for accurate and timely verification of electrical contractor's
bills.
T&C Support Documentation: Contribution to successful electrical system testing and
commissioning.
Complete Site Documentation: Well-maintained site diaries, inspection records, and progress
photographs.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Overall Experience :8+ years of progressive experience in Electrical Installations and construction site management
DC Specific Exp : ( If Any)
Minimum 3-5 years of direct, hands-on experience in executing and supervising Electrical
Power installations, including significant HV/MV switchgear (specifically GIS) and substation
projects, for large-scale commercial, industrial with a strong preference for data centers or
heavy industrial facilities.
