Calix provides the cloud, software platforms, systems and services required for communications service providers to simplify their businesses, excite their subscribers and grow their value.

Calix is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer to contribute to the validation of network security and threat intelligence features across Calix platforms. The successful candidate will focus on the functional, integrity, and quality aspects of Calix's network security products. This role involves collaborating with the Lead Test Engineer, the Threat Intelligence team, and cross-functional groups to design and execute comprehensive test plans, verify feature functionality, ensure data accuracy, and maintain high-quality standards across Calix Network Security solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lead Test Engineer to understand feature requirements and testing objectives
  • Perform functional, unit, integration, and performance testing for Calix Network Security products and threat intelligence
  • Design, maintain, and automate test cases for cybersecurity functionality
  • Document test procedures, outcomes, and defects accurately and clearly
  • Assist in analyzing test results and participate in debugging sessions with developers
  • Provide detailed feedback on usability, reliability, and performance issues
  • Participate in regular team meetings and reviews to support product quality
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in network security and testing technologies
  • Contribute to test automation and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2–5 years of software testing experience, ideally in network or cybersecurity domains
  • Experience testing networking or network security solutions
  • Hands-on experience in programming with Python and ability to write system and integration tests (Robot framework preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Pytest and other testing frameworks
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab, or Bitbucket
  • Strong grasp of Linux fundamentals and virtualization environments (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills; ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Capable individual contributor committed to delivering high-quality outputs
  • Knowledge of OSI Model and TCP/IP Suite
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in threat intelligence and network security products such as IPS/IDS
  • Exposure to traffic generator tools like TRex, BreakingPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-based testing environments
