Role & responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures
  • Optimize SQL queries and perform database performance tuning
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through best practices and monitoring
  • Collaborate with application developers to design efficient database structures and queries
  • Perform database migrations, upgrades, and backups
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, test, and production environments
  • Implement and maintain replication, partitioning, and high availability solutions
  • Document database architecture, configurations, and procedures

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database and having Oracle/Mysql is an advantage
  • Proven experience in end-to-end database migration projects
  • Expertise in SQL tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization
  • Familiarity with replication, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery setups
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage
  • Experience with heterogeneous database migrations (between different engines)
  • Skilled in performance optimization techniques
  • Ability to cloud db RDS transactional environments and plan migration strategies

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech (CSE/IT)/M.C.A/M.Sc(IT) only with 60%.

Experience: 2-5 years as a PostgreSQL DBA.
