Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute end-to-end migration of PostgreSQL databases to MySQL in cloud environments (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database).
  • Analyze existing PostgreSQL schemas, stored procedures, and queries, and convert them to MySQL-compatible versions.
  • Design migration architecture and ensure data integrity, minimal downtime, and high availability.
  • Optimize database performance post-migration and ensure successful deployment in the target environment.
  • Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to align database changes with business requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Implement database security, backup, and monitoring in the new MySQL environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with both PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
  • Hands-on experience in Oracle to postgres / Oracle to MySQL.
  • Proven experience migrating data and database objects from PostgreSQL to MySQL.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, procedures, and triggers.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS (e.g., RDS, DMS), Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with database migration tools .
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation in cloud environments is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
