Wattle Crust, an Australian-inspired bakery and café, is expanding its team We are looking for energetic, reliable, and skilled individuals who are passionate about food, customer service, and creating memorable café experiences.

1. Retail Staff (Front-of-House)

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers with menu recommendations
  • Manage billing, orders, dine-in and takeaway operations
  • Maintain cleanliness of service counters and seating area
  • Handle customer queries professionally
  • Support café operations during busy hours

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Pleasant personality and customer-first attitude
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior café/retail experience preferred

2. Barista

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality coffee, shakes, and beverages
  • Maintain proper brewing standards and consistency
  • Manage coffee station, stock, and cleanliness
  • Interact with customers and understand beverage preferences
  • Support café team during rush hours

Requirements:

  • Prior barista experience preferred
  • Knowledge of espresso machines and coffee brewing
  • Good communication & customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently

3. Helper / Commis Chef

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head chef in daily food preparation
  • Support baking and cooking operations
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
  • Handle cutting, chopping, and basic prep tasks
  • Follow recipes and instructions accurately

Requirements:

  • Basic kitchen skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to work under pressure

4. Chef (Burgers, Pizza, Pasta, Salads)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook items such as burgers, pizzas, pastas, salads, sandwiches, and bakery-style café food
  • Maintain taste, consistency, and presentation standards
  • Manage kitchen operations and food safety
  • Maintain inventory and assist in daily ordering
  • Create new menu items (optional)

Requirements:

  • Experience in continental / café cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of pizza dough, sauces, grill, and sauté stations
  • Ability to maintain high-quality output during rush hours
  • Team player with strong hygiene practices
