Role Overview:

The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of end-user hardware, software, and operating systems. You will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to internal users and ensure timely resolution of technical issues, either onsite or remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices (Windows and/or macOS)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to OS, applications, drivers, and connectivity
  • Respond to IT service requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner (on-site or via remote tools)

Installation & Configuration

  • Set up and configure new systems for employees, including OS installation, user profiles, software, and hardware
  • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding (email setup, access rights, device provisioning)
  • Manage and support mobile devices, VoIP phones, and endpoint security solutions

Collaboration

  • Work closely with network, systems, and service desk teams to resolve complex issues
  • Assist in IT infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, office moves, or software rollouts

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with macOS or Linux environments
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk, or Freshservice
  • Knowledge of imaging tools (e.g., MDT, WDS, Acronis)
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MTA/MCSA, ITIL Foundation)
