Position Overview

We are looking for a
skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator
to join our growing IT team. The ideal candidate will have
at least 3 years of hands-on experience
managing and optimising IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and compliance.

In this role, you will be responsible for the
health, performance, and security
of our IT environment—focusing on strategic patching, system mitigation, and proactive infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities


System & Network Administration

  • Manage and maintain servers, storage systems, networking components, and cloud services for optimal performance.


Virtualisation

  • Deploy and manage virtual environments using
    VMware
    ,
    Hyper-V
    , and other platforms.


Windows Server Management

  • Administer
    Windows Server 2012–2022
    , including
    Active Directory
    ,
    DNS
    ,
    DHCP
    ,
    Group Policy
    , and file services.


Automation & Scripting

  • Create automation scripts using
    PowerShell
    ,
    Bash
    , or
    Python
    to streamline IT operations.


Network Infrastructure

  • Configure and manage
    routers
    ,
    switches
    ,
    firewalls
    , and services such as
    LAN/WAN
    ,
    VPN
    ,
    VLANs
    ,
    DNS
    , and
    DHCP
    .


Backup & Disaster Recovery

  • Implement and oversee backup solutions using
    Veeam
    ,
    Acronis
    , or
    Veritas
    to ensure data protection and recovery readiness.


Security & Patch Management

  • Lead patch deployment cycles, ensure timely security updates, and manage antivirus, firewalls, access control, and compliance reporting.


Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Utilise RMM tools like
    Kaseya
    ,
    Datto
    ,
    ManageEngine
    , and ticketing systems such as
    ServiceNow
    or
    Jira
    for proactive system monitoring and issue resolution.


Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and resolve issues efficiently to minimise downtime.


Collaboration & Documentation

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects.


Mentorship

  • Guide junior team members on best practices, tools, and troubleshooting.


Client Support

  • Deliver expert support for
    Kaseya tools
    and other system monitoring and automation platforms.

Technical Skills

  • Windows Server (2012–2022)
  • Virtualisation:
    VMware, Hyper-V
  • Networking:
    TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls
  • Automation:
    PowerShell, Bash, Python
  • Patch Management:
    WSUS, SCCM, or similar tools
  • Backup:
    Veeam, Acronis, Veritas
  • RMM & Ticketing Tools:
    Kaseya, Datto, ServiceNow, ConnectWise, ManageEngine, ITGlue


Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
