Position Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated Dental Assistant and Receptionist to join our dental team. This dual-role position involves both clinical support to the dentist and administrative duties at the front desk. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Dental Assisting Duties:

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays (if qualified).
  • Record and update patient medical histories and treatment notes.
  • Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
  • Maintain dental supplies and monitor inventory levels.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and policies.

Receptionist Duties:

  • Greet patients warmly and ensure a positive front desk experience.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and schedule appointments.
  • Confirm appointments and follow up on cancellations or rescheduling.
  • Process patient registrations and update personal and medical records.
  • Handle billing, payments, insurance claims, and EFTPOS transactions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (or relevant experience).
  • Prior experience in a dental or medical reception role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in dental software (e.g., D4W, Exact, Oasis, or similar).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • Professional, friendly, and empathetic manner.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
