Job SummaryThe CNC/VMC/3D Programmer is responsible for creating and optimizing programs for computer-controlled machining centers to produce parts efficiently and to specification. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, CAD/CAM software, and the ability to translate technical drawings into machine-readable instructions. Key Responsibilities

  • Programming and Optimization: Develop and optimize CNC/VMC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Delcam Powermill, G-code, M-code).
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols to define machining requirements.
  • Machine Setup and Operation: Assist with machine setup, fixture and tool installation, and adjusting parameters like speed, feed, and coolant flow.
  • Quality Control: Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts conform to specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues that arise during machine setup and operation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with machine operators, engineers, and production teams to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
  • Maintenance and Documentation: Maintain a clean work environment, document production activities (e.g., setup sheets, inspection reports), and manage tooling inventory.
