Job Description Testing Engineer

Location: Faridabad

Department: Quality & Testing (Presto Laboratories)

Experience Required: Minimum 3 years

Role Overview

Presto Laboratories is looking for a skilled Testing Engineer with hands-on experience in Electrical Home Appliance Safety Testing (as per IS 302 standards) or Mechanical Testing. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a NABL/BIS-recognized laboratory, with deep knowledge of compliance, safety parameters, and handling industry-standard test equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical safety tests on appliances and other relevant BIS/IEC standards.
  • Operate and maintain advanced testing instruments, ensuring accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Prepare detailed test reports with observations, compliance remarks, and recommendations.
  • Ensure laboratory practices meet ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Assist in calibration and validation of instruments.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve testing methodologies.
  • Stay updated with latest amendments in BIS / IS / IEC standards related to electrical safety testing.

Instruments & Test Equipment Exposure (Preferred)

Hands-on experience with instruments as per IS 302 series, including:

  • High Voltage (HV) Testers
  • Insulation Resistance (IR) Testers
  • Leakage Current Test Apparatus
  • Temperature Rise Test Equipment
  • Withstand Voltage Testers
  • Cord Flexing / Flex Durability Test Machine
  • Impact Test Apparatus
  • Plug & Socket Endurance Test Setup
  • Withdrawal Force Test Apparatus
  • Mechanical Strength Test Fixtures

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in electrical appliance safety testing or mechanical testing.
  • Prior work experience in a testing laboratory (NABL/BIS accredited) will be given strong preference.
  • Strong knowledge of BIS/IEC testing procedures.
  • Good analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
