Job description:
An accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Key duties include analyzing financial data, preparing budgets and forecasts, reconciling accounts, processing accounts payable and receivable, and providing financial advice to help organizations make informed decisions. Key responsibilities
Financial record-keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including the general ledger and financial statements.
Financial reporting: Prepare reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal and external stakeholders.
Budgeting and forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts, and recommend actions to improve profitability and reduce costs.
Compliance and auditing: Ensure all financial practices and statements comply with relevant laws and regulations, and conduct internal audits or assist with external ones.
Tax preparation: Prepare and file tax returns for individuals or companies.
Financial analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess risks, and provide recommendations to management for strategic decision-making.
Accounts management: Process accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and manage payroll.
Essential skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with accounting software and other financial tools.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills to explain findings to management and clients.
Knowledge of financial laws and regulations.
