About the Role

Fivetran is looking for an Engineering Manager, Backend to join the engineering leadership team. You will be working closely with engineers and product managers.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and coordinate with other stakeholders at the company, including product management, support engineers, and sales engineers. The product areas will include but not limited to SQL Server source, and cloud data warehouses as a source. You will take full responsibility for the quality, efficiency, and reliability of your focus areas; and you will build and maintain a team that reliably delivers excellent results while maintaining a culture of engagement, fairness, and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time position based out of our Bangalore office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

What You'll Do

Develop, mentor, and grow engineers on the teamProvide technical guidance and act as a coach and advisor to engineers. This includes code and design reviewsRecruit and hire top engineering talent to build a strong teamFoster a culture of collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvementDrive the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and efficient softwareIdentify and remove obstacles that block team progressManage and improve team processes for effective executionPartner with product managers and stakeholders to deliver on the roadmapContribute to engineering-wide initiatives and cross-team projectsDefine and communicate a clear vision that aligns with company goals

Skills We're Looking For

You have 10-15 years of industry experience.You have 2-5 years of experience in a software engineering management roleYou have 5+ years of experience working as a software engineerStrong leadership skills and a proven ability to motivate teams to produce high quality softwareAptitude in decision making and problem-solvingDemonstrated competency in project and program leadershipAbility to develop and communicate an effective vision and get buy-in from stakeholdersAbility to assess and iterate within an evolving software and services environmentExperience designing and implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines at scale
