We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer with 4–9 years of experience to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that power our applications and platforms. You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to build scalable, high-performance, and reliable backend services. The ideal candidate is passionate about backend technologies, thrives in problem-solving, and is eager to contribute to building systems that impact thousands of users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Development: Architect, design, and implement scalable backend services and APIs that support business logic and application functionality.
  • System Optimization: Ensure backend systems are optimized for performance, reliability, and scalability to handle increasing loads.
  • Database Management: Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases to design schemas, write efficient queries, and manage large-scale data.
  • API Development: Build RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to enable seamless integration with frontend and external systems.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend, DevOps, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality features and improvements.
  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues in production and staging environments.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement secure coding practices, ensuring protection against vulnerabilities and data breaches.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging backend technologies, tools, and best practices, applying them to improve the system and development process.
  • Mentorship: Share knowledge with junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and peer code reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4–9 years of proven experience as a Backend Engineer or Software Engineer with a focus on backend development.
  • Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, , or similar.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
  • Experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
  • Hands-on experience with building and consuming APIs (RESTful or GraphQL).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven design.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):

  • Exposure to message queues and streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Knowledge of caching strategies and performance tuning.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Prior experience working in fast-paced product-based environments or startups.
