Our Data Layer Team focuses on creating scalable data solutions and advancing our data infrastructure to drive informed decision-making across the company.

As a Data Engineer Manager in BCG's Data Layer Team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that enable seamless access to high-quality, actionable insights. You will drive technical excellence, mentor data engineers, and collaborate closely with technical area leads, solution architects, and product owners to enhance BCG's data ecosystem. Your expertise in AWS, Python, and modern data architectures will be instrumental in ensuring data integrity, reliability, and efficiency across platforms. Additionally, you will play a key role in defining best practices, improving engineering standards, and leading innovation in data engineering. If you're passionate about leading high-performance data teams, architecting scalable solutions, and driving strategic impact, this role is for you.

What You'll Bring

• 6-8+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering role.
• Ability to design and develop scalable, cloud-native data solutions using AWS services.
• Understanding of modernized data architecture and modeling concepts, including Cloud data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts. Familiarity with dimensional modeling, star schemas, and real-time/batch ETL/ELT.
• Strong Python skills for data processing, automation, and API integrations.
• Prior experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments in building data pipelines and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Demonstrated experience with data models and pipelines supporting GenAI applications.
• Experience working in an Agile model across squads.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

• Expertise in AWS cloud technologies for designing, building, and maintaining Python-based data engineering pipelines that seamlessly integrate structured and unstructured data.
• Proficient in ETL processes and data integration tools/frameworks, including AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, and Step Functions, with the ability to extract and transform data from multiple sources.
• Skilled in interpreting API documentation to gather requirements and design effective data solutions, including automation of data extraction using RESTful APIs.
• Strong Python and SQL coding skills, with experience in cloud-based data warehousing solutions; familiarity with Snowflake is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in data analytics, including data mining, cleansing, and visualization.
• Familiar with ETL tools such as Alteryx or similar platforms, offering a flexible approach to integrating data pipelines.
• Skilled in data cataloging tools (e.g., Informatica) and automating metadata pipelines.
• Adept at troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bring a data-driven approach to decision making, both in day-to-day management and in making strategic trade-offs.
• Collaborates with stakeholders, including business teams, product owners, and data scientists, to translate requirements into scalable and effective data solutions.
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies and ways of working (Scrum, XP, Devops), understanding and applying "servant leader" mindset and with the ability to engage in Agile ceremonies to provide teams necessary direction and guidance
• Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
