Key Responsibilities: 1. Evaluate life and medical insurance applications by assessing risk factors such as medical history, lifestyle, and financial background.

2. Apply underwriting guidelines and make decisions within delegated authority limits, escalating complex cases as needed.

3. Assist in reviewing and updating underwriting policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

4. Monitor underwriting quality and participate in internal audits to ensure consistency and compliance.

5. Analyze underwriting trends and portfolio performance metrics such as claims experience and persistency to support decision-making.

6. Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters, helping them improve technical skills and decision-making capabilities.

7. Collaborate with product development teams to provide underwriting insights for new product launches and enhancements.

8. Coordinate with reinsurance and actuarial teams to ensure appropriate risk sharing and pricing alignment.

9. Stay updated on medical advancements, diagnostic procedures, and regulatory changes relevant to underwriting.

10. Support implementation and optimization of underwriting systems and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.

11. Participate in initiatives aimed at improving customer experience, including reducing turnaround times and enhancing communication.

12. Conduct video calls with customers when required to gather health-related information for underwriting assessments.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of life and medical underwriting principles

  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with underwriting systems and digital tools
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members

    -Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks

    -Education Graduate in any discipline (medical, paramedical, or insurance-related background preferred)
  • Experience in team coordination or mentoring is an advantage
