Job Title: SAP BASIS Consultant

Experience Needed: 4 to 10 Years.

Job Location: Bhubaneshwar

Mode : Work From Office

Role Overview:

The SAP BASIS Administrator is responsible for the smooth operation, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP systems and supporting infrastructure. This includes ensuring system availability, managing transport requests, monitoring the file system, and addressing issues related to SAP and its supported databases.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring & Administration:

  • Monitor the SAP systems across all environments (Development, Quality, and Production).

  • Start and stop SAP systems as needed and troubleshoot any issues during system start up or shutdown.
  • Perform file system monitoring at the operating system level.
  • Track and respond to system errors, alerts, and logs.

  • Maintain and update system monitoring reports.

  • Transport Management:

  • Import transport requests into Quality and Production systems.

  • Monitor the status of transport requests (success, warning, failure) and communicate updates to the transport request owners.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Transport Management System (TMS).

  • Database Management:

  • Monitor database statistics, growth trends, system logs, and backup activities.

  • Address database-related alerts or errors and escalate issues when required.

  • Error Recognition & Reporting:

  • Identify errors in processes or system operations and take immediate corrective actions.

  • Proactively inform the reporting manager of critical issues or failures.

  • Installations & Upgrades:

  • Install new SAP NetWeaver and other "New Dimension" products (e.g., BW, CRM, ERP, BO, Solution Manager, Portal) with minimal guidance.

  • Support the SAP upgrade process and monitor system performance during and after upgrades.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of SAP architecture and its core components.

  • Familiarity with SAP systems like:

  • SAP ERP

  • SAP BW (Business Warehouse)
  • SAP CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
  • SAP BO (BusinessObjects)
  • SAP Solution Manager

  • SAP Portal

  • Basic knowledge of databases supported by SAP (e.g., Oracle, HANA, MS SQL).

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and reporting abilities.
