of Head External Affairs, Vedanta Jharsuguda.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Government & Regulatory Liaison
  : Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to ensure compliance and advocacy.
• Policy Advocacy
  : Monitor and influence policy developments relevant to the industry; represent the company in industry forums and public consultations.
• Stakeholder Engagement
  : Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies to support business operations and expansion.
• Corporate Communications
  : Oversee external communication strategies including media relations, press releases, and crisis communication.
• Community Relations
  : Lead CSR initiatives and community engagement programs to enhance the company's social license to operate.
• Reputation Management
  : Monitor public sentiment and proactively manage the company's reputation across various platforms.
• Strategic Partnerships
  : Identify and cultivate partnerships with NGOs, industry bodies, and academic institutions.
• Compliance Oversight
  : Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in all external affairs activities.
• Crisis Management
  : Act as a key spokesperson during crises; develop and implement crisis communication plans.
• Internal Collaboration
  : Work closely with legal, operations, HR, and sustainability teams to align external affairs strategies with business goals.
• Reporting & Documentation
  : Maintain records of engagements, regulatory updates, and prepare reports for senior leadership.
• Team Leadership
  : Build and manage a high-performing external affairs team; foster a culture of integrity and responsiveness.

Education Qualification | Work-Ex| Desired Attributes

• Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Communications, or related field with 12–15 years of experience
• Experience in sectors such as mining, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and government processes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Crisis management and media handling expertise
