Company:Qualcomm India Private LimitedJob Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software EngineeringGeneral Summary:Job Overview - Dept Description and Job Duties: The BT RF VI/DVT team primary function is Bring up, Evaluation, optimization and enhancement of the radio performance of Qualcomm silicon radios. The group consists of multi-disciplined (RF, Analogue, Software and Digital) engineers who work closely with specialist design and systems engineers. This broad base of knowledge is deployed to provide optimal tuning and configuration solutions for radio operation. The role is predominantly lab-based working at circuit, subsystem, and system level.The BDC Bluetooth RF VI/DVT team are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to form an integral part of our BT Radio Optimization team in Bangalore. The team will work closely with the BT FW, Systems, and Characterization team across Geos. The Team plays a pivotal role in the developing complex radio/modem features for the company's Connectivity products. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across engineering disciplines from high level SOC to low-level hardware. Typical tasks for the successful applicant would include:Focusing on all aspects of the silicon design that influence the performance, qualification, and test of the connectivity radios, including elements of the embedded firmware for Radio Control and defining the Production Test strategy and test limits for the radio.Develops complex features and components of hardware designs in line with proposals or roadmaps for complex products; advises less experienced engineers working together on common testing and design tasks.Troubleshoots advanced issues with radio designs and finds solutions that are documented and shared with internal cross functional teams working on similar products.Manages project-related activities (e.g., meetings, documentation, deliverables) between their team and other teams working on the same or similar products, operating across locations and time zones.Lead pre-Si / post-Si planning ensuring end to end effort covering all areas required for successful TO and bring up. Ensure all risky system use cases are planned for and executed.Lead FC/ES/CS efforts and ensure all quality, KPIs and customer criteria is met.Serves as a mentor to Engineers and Senior Engineers and guides them about complex features, systems, testing strategies, and automation.Addresses general technical issues and escalates only highly complex technical issues to tech leads or Principal Engineers.Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents. • Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronics and communication engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institution.At least 7+ years' experience in a relevant engineering rolePreferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institutionAt least 6+ years' experience in a relevant engineering role2+ years' experience with circuit design (e.g., digital, analog, RF).2+ years' experience utilizing schematic capture and circuit simulation software.2+years' experience with hardware design and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development:Design, implement, and optimize algorithms using Python and C for calibration, signal processing, and RF performance enhancement.Develop automation scripts for RF testing and validation workflows.Radio Systems Expertise:Apply extensive knowledge of radio fundamentals, calibration algorithms, and RF principles to ensure optimal performance of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi systems.Analyze and troubleshoot RF issues across multiple layers of communication protocols.Signal Processing & Communication:Utilize advanced signal processing techniques to improve radio communication reliability and efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions into broader system architectures.Hardware & Lab Work:Interpret electronic schematics and work closely with hardware teams to validate designs.Perform hands-on testing using RF lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, combiners, and Bluetooth testers.RF Metrics & Performance Analysis:Monitor and evaluate RF metrics for Bluetooth and WLAN systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.Drive continuous improvement in RF performance through data-driven analysis.Leadership & Team Development:Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration.Take ownership of team deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.Collaboration & Adaptability:Work effectively in a dynamic environment, adapting to evolving project requirements.Demonstrate strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Skills:Proficiency in Python and C programming.Deep understanding of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi technologies, RF calibration, and radio fundamentals.Strong knowledge of signal processing and radio communication principles.Experience with RF lab equipment and interpreting electronic schematics.Excellent leadership, mentorship, and team management skills.Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable taking responsibility for team outcomes.Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
