Job Title: Lathe & Milling Machine Operator Department: Mechanical / Sample Preparation Location: Ulogam Analytical Services Pvt. Ltd., Chennai Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Fitter / Machinist (1–3 years experience preferred; freshers with good skills can apply) --- Job Responsibilities: Operate conventional lathe and milling machines for sample preparation. Perform cutting, facing, turning, grooving, drilling, slotting, and milling operations as per sample requirements. Prepare mechanical test specimens (tensile, impact, bend, hardness, metallography samples) to standard dimensions (ASTM, ISO, IS). Ensure dimensional accuracy using micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, etc. Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and routine checks. Follow job orders, drawings, and tolerances accurately. Coordinate with mechanical and metallurgical testing teams to ensure timely completion of samples. Maintain safety standards and use PPE while operating machines. Report any machine issues, tool wear, or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
--- Skills Required: Hands-on experience with lathe and milling machines. Ability to read basic engineering drawings. Good understanding of cutting tools and machining parameters. Proficiency in using measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, gauge blocks, etc.) Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to work independently and handle multiple jobs efficiently.
--- Experience: 1–3 years preferred (Fresher ITI/Diploma candidates with good skill also considered)
