Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Hyderabad. The Palo Alto Firewall Engineer will be responsible for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewall solutions, ensuring network security across the organization. Daily tasks include monitoring and analyzing network traffic, implementing security policies, and collaborating with IT teams to address security incidents and improve the company's security posture.

Sr Network Security Engineer (Palo Alto Firewall)

Job Description

To install, support and maintain the Palo Alto suite of products. The Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of security infrastructure systems and equipment. This position will be involved remote site troubleshooting and support of complex Data Centre solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
• Design, Deploy and Manage firewalls, Palo Alto
• Monitor network performance and integrity
• Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
• Responsible for LAN installation including switches and routers. (Cisco and HP)
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Mentor team members on technical issues
• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
• Pro-actively review and maintain client infrastructure\
• Communicate with users when needed
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability

Essential

• Knowledge and experience installing and supporting Palo Alto Security Appliances (minimum three years)
• Experience of installing Cisco and HP networking equipment.
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer 7-8 (PCNSE7-8) certification
• Preferred CCNP certified (or higher)
• Data knowledge of protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel,
• Static routing networking topologies and protocols. Examples being MPLS, VRF, SIP, Traffic Shaping / QoS
• Palo Alto Command line Cisco command line
• Must have a good networking background and understanding
• A high level of Palo Alto expertise in design, configuration, migrations, tuning and
• customisation of features
• Thorough knowledge of Panorama, Wildfire, Global Protect, and other Palo Alto features including and not limited to SSL decryption
• Familiarity with Data Centre environment and hosted deployments/cloud
• Experience of supporting clients remotely and face to face, along with experience of working with SIP providers
• Experience with Wireshark or other protocol analysers
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
• Must be flexible to work outside of business hours as per business requirements.
• Needs to be able to remain calm under pressure and ensure a logical thought process is maintained.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, computer science, or management information systems
• or more years of industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator

Desirable

• Knowledge of Avaya and/or Mitel phone solutions
• Experience of the Python programming language

Role Overview:

• Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Palo Alto-based network security infrastructure. The role includes remote troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and optimizing enterprise-level network and data center systems.
