Job Overview
Lead Academics & Strategist will be responsible for working closely with the Head – Academy to drive training initiatives that support employee development and align with the organization's strategic goals. This role will focus on enhancing skill capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of the organization. Additionally, the role will involve contributing to strategic decision-making and participating in business development activities as needed.
Job Description
Training Needs Assessment and Program Design

  • Assess training needs by consulting with departmental heads, using appropriate assessment methods, tools, and measurement systems to ensure training aligns with organizational goals.
  • Develop and manage the implementation of training strategies that meet organizational objectives, ensuring that all training and development plans are effectively executed and evaluated.
  • Design or oversee the design of training programs and courses tailored to identified needs, collaborating with both internal subject matter experts and external providers to ensure comprehensive and high-quality content.
  • Identify, select, and manage relationships with external training and accreditation bodies, ensuring that all training programs meet the required industry standards and compliance regulations.

Training Delivery and Compliance

  • Organize all logistical aspects of training delivery, including selecting training venues, coordinating accommodations, and managing any other necessary arrangements to ensure seamless training execution.
  • Personally deliver training sessions or coordinate with internal and external trainers to supplement training delivery where necessary, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for participants.
  • Maintain all essential training equipment and materials to ensure their readiness and availability for each session.

Ensure all training activities and materials comply with relevant organizational policies and statutory regulations, including those relating to health and safety, employment, and equality laws.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Vendor Management

  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through continuous monitoring, gathering feedback, and evaluating performance to ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Regularly update and maintain the Training Management Information System (MIS) and Learning Management System (LMS) to track training progress, performance metrics, and costs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including handling negotiations, ensuring the timely provision of services, and overseeing payment processes to maintain effective and cost-efficient training solutions.

Team Management & Succession Planning
Manage and develop staff, including performance management, training, and career development.

Create and maintain a robust talent pipeline to ensure succession planning (1:2 ratio).

Sustainability

  • Oversee corporate governance within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with organizational principles, policies, and regulations.
  • Promote judicious use of natural resources and adhere to the organization's environment, health, and safety policies, objectives, and guidelines.
  • Drive the organization's sustainability initiatives, working towards achieving established targets.

Anti Bribery Management Systems (ABMS)

  • Follow the ABMS roles and responsibilities details as prescribed on the ABMS manual.
  • Understanding of ethical standards and the importance of integrity in business practices.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate risks related to bribery in various business contexts. For more detailed explanation, follow the ABMS manual.

Education

  • Postgraduate or Global Equivalent Degree and an additional certifications in training & development are preferred.

Experience

  • 10–12 years of overall work experience, including at least 5 years in training and a minimum of 2 years in training delivery. Candidates currently serving as Deans or in similar leadership roles at reputed universities in the field of Hospitality will be preferred.
