Job Overview

We are seeking a committed and experienced Assistant Professor in Food Processing Technology Management for our Coimbatore campus. This is a full-time, mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in food processing, curriculum development, and research methodology, along with a passion for teaching and mentoring students. The role involves interacting with undergraduate and graduate students in a dynamic academic environment.

Qualifications and Skills: 

Qualification : Ph. D in Foods and Nutrition and Food Science and Nutrition, Food Science and Technology and Food Processing Technology

  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the field of food processing technology, demonstrating applied expertise.
  • Ability to develop and enhance academic curriculum related to food processing technology management.
  • Strong grasp of research methodology with experience in guiding academic research (Mandatory skill).
  • Proven skills in student mentoring to support and guide academic and career growth.
  • Proficiency in academic writing for publications and preparing course materials.
  • Competence in laboratory management, including organizing and conducting experiments essential for food science practicals.
  • Capability to collaborate with faculty for developing interdisciplinary programs and workshops.
  • Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with students and faculty.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver course content for food processing technology management to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Engage in curriculum development and improvement alongside department faculty.
  • Guide and supervise student research projects, particularly senior theses and dissertations.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, committees, and conferences to contribute new ideas.
  • Conduct research in the field and work towards publishing findings in reputable academic journals.
  • Provide mentorship to students to enhance their academic and professional skills, including career guidance.
  • Manage laboratory facilities, ensuring they are equipped and maintained for teaching and research purposes.
  • Collaborate with international partner universities for academic exchanges and joint research programs.
