Key Responsibilities

  1. Transformer Design:

  2. Design and develop mechanical components for distribution and power transformers (up to 100 MVA, 132 kV).

  3. Interpret and implement customer drawings, internal connection drawings, tank designs, yoke clamps, and insulation structure details.

  4. 3D Modelling and Drawing:

  5. Create and optimize designs using software tools such as AutoCAD, Creo-2, and Inventor for 3D modeling.

  6. Calculations and Analysis:

  7. Perform stress and mechanical calculations to ensure design reliability and safety.

  8. Implement optimization methodologies to enhance design efficiency and reduce costs.

  9. Standards and Compliance:

  10. Ensure designs meet applicable transformer standards and regulatory requirements.

  11. Collaboration:

  12. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical and production departments, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.

  13. Liaise with customers to ensure technical specifications are met.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Software Expertise:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Creo-2, and Inventor for mechanical design and 3D modeling.

  • Strong knowledge of transformer mechanical design, including tanks, clamps, and insulation structures.

  • Familiarity with transformer standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI).
  • Expertise in stress and mechanical calculations.
  • Proven track record in design optimization and methodology implementation.
  • Excellent understanding of customer and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in 5S and Kaizen practices.
  • Familiarity with SAP for design data management.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
