Position Overview

The Service Advisor – General acts as the key link between customers and the service department. The role is responsible for understanding customer needs, explaining required services, coordinating repair/maintenance activities, and ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction while meeting organizational service quality targets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, understand their vehicle issues/requirements, and document service needs accurately.

  • Provide professional advice to customers on necessary repairs, services, and preventive maintenance.

  • Prepare job cards and ensure all service details are recorded in the system.

  • Coordinate with technicians and workshop staff to ensure timely completion of service activities.

  • Communicate service timelines, cost estimates, and status updates to customers regularly.

  • Conduct final quality checks on serviced vehicles before delivery to ensure standards are met.

  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalate issues if required.

  • Ensure billing accuracy and explain service invoices clearly to customers.

  • Promote additional services, offers, and maintenance packages to achieve incentive targets.

  • Maintain customer records and build long-term relationships to enhance retention.

Essential Qualifications

  • Diploma / Graduate in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any relevant discipline.

  • 2–3 years of proven experience as a Service Advisor in the automobile industry (Automobile experience is mandatory).

  • Knowledge of automotive systems, service processes, and customer handling practices.

Skills Required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.

  • Customer-oriented mindset with problem-solving ability.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple service requests.

  • Sound technical knowledge of automobiles to explain service requirements.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and service management software.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.
