Role Overview

Chargebee is seeking a Senior Program Manager to execute complex programs requiring deep business, product, and engineering knowledge. This role is pivotal in leading initiatives that enhance platform scalability and could also drive product initiatives critical to the business. With a strong foundation in SaaS technologies, customer-centric thinking, and program management methodologies, the ideal candidate will collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Experience in Fintech, Billing, or Subscription-based services is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute programs that require a deep understanding of product and engineering at both architectural and operational levels, always keeping customer impact at the forefront.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, and business teams to deliver scalable and customer-focused solutions.
  • Partner with engineering teams to navigate complex technology challenges using Agile, Kanban, and Scrum methodologies.
  • Provide steady leadership in high-pressure scenarios involving uncertainty, evolving priorities, and aggressive deadlines.
  • Develop and refine processes to improve program delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, measurable outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and address risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, maintaining program momentum and stakeholder trust.
  • Lead initiatives with a strong focus on SaaS technologies and platform interoperability, ensuring seamless customer experiences and tangible business value.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and excellence by mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement.
  • Leverage tools like Google Workspace and project management platforms to enhance collaboration, reporting, and transparency, while ensuring customer-centric outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Program Management, driving complex programs with cross-functional teams in SaaS, cloud, or similar technical domains.
  • 4+ years of people management experience, with a proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of platform architectures and interoperability, with exposure to cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) a plus.
  • Background in Fintech, Billing, or Subscription-based services is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile, Kanban, and Scrum methodologies, with hands-on experience collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to lead programs involving deep systems and engineering-level knowledge, balancing competing priorities and resolving technical challenges effectively.
  • Experience providing steady leadership in rapidly changing, high-growth environments with evolving business requirements.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of aligning diverse teams toward common objectives.
  • Proficiency with tools like Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and project management platforms to facilitate collaboration and reporting.
  • Passion for delivering customer-centric solutions, with a mindset to always prioritize the end-user experience.
