We are hiring Vice President – Finance & Accounts for a leading Construction Company
Location: TNagar,Chennai
Reporting To
Managing Director / Group CEO / Board of Directors
Role Overview
The Vice President – Finance & Accounts will be a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing the entire finance function of the Group, including financial planning, accounting, taxation, audits, compliance, treasury, fund raising, loan management, and investor relations. The role demands strong expertise in structured finance, debt & equity funding, banking relationships, and cash flow management, particularly for real estate and capital-intensive businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Act as a strategic partner to the MD/Board in driving the Group's financial vision and long-term growth.
- Develop and implement group-wide financial strategies, policies, and controls.
- Provide financial insights for new projects, expansions, land acquisitions, and investments.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and MIS across all group companies.
Fund Raising & Capital Structuring
- Lead fund raising activities including:
- Bank loans
- Project finance
- Working capital facilities
- Structured debt
- Private equity / strategic investors (if applicable)
- Design optimal capital structures for different business verticals.
- Prepare fund-raising decks, financial models, and investor presentations.
- Negotiate terms with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, and investors.
Loan & Debt Management
- Manage all existing and new loans, including:
- Sanction, documentation, disbursement, and compliance
- Interest optimization and restructuring
- Timely servicing of principal and interest
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, and lenders.
- Monitor covenants and ensure zero-default status.
Treasury & Fund Management
- Oversee treasury operations and cash flow management across group companies.
- Ensure optimal utilization of funds and liquidity planning.
- Manage inter-company funding and cash pooling.
- Monitor fund deployment aligned with approved budgets and project timelines.
Accounts, Audit & Compliance
- Oversee end-to-end accounts and finance operations including:
- Finalization of accounts
- Consolidation of group financials
- Statutory, internal, and tax audits
- Ensure compliance with:
- Companies Act
- Income Tax, GST, TDS
- RERA (for real estate entities)
- Other industry-specific regulations
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Taxation & Risk Management
- Lead direct and indirect tax planning for the Group.
- Ensure tax optimization while maintaining full statutory compliance.
- Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Implement strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
Business-Specific Financial Oversight
- Real Estate:
- Project-level costing, cash flow, and profitability analysis
- RERA compliance and escrow account management
- Land acquisition financial due diligence
- Manufacturing / Bottling:
- Costing, margin analysis, working capital optimization
- Solar Energy:
- Project finance, subsidies, power purchase agreements (financial aspects)
- Land Bank:
- Valuation, holding costs, monetization strategies
Team Leadership & Governance
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team across group companies.
- Establish standardized financial systems, ERP, and MIS.
- Drive a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA Finance (CA preferred)
- 15–25 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles
- Strong exposure to real estate finance, project finance, and fund raising
- Proven track record in dealing with banks, financial institutions, and investors
- Experience in managing multi-entity group structures preferred
