We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director, Software Engineering

In this role you will:

• Strategic Leadership & Vision: Define and execute a comprehensive strategy for our multi-cloud platform (AWS and GCP), focusing on automation, self-service, and security. You will champion a "cloud-first" and "everything as code" culture throughout the engineering organization. 
• IaC Vending Machine: Spearhead the design, development, and operation of a highly automated, self-service platform that enables application developers to provision infrastructure and services on demand. This "vending machine" will be built on a foundation of reusable and well-documented Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules. 
• Platform Ownership & Security: Take full ownership of the entire cloud platform, including the underlying infrastructure, security posture, and service-level objectives (SLOs). You will be responsible for building and maintaining a secure platform by default, incorporating security best practices into all aspects of the platform's lifecycle. 
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Excellence: Lead the creation and management of a standardized library of Terraform modules for provisioning and managing cloud resources. Ensure these modules are robust, reusable, and adhere to best practices for security and governance. 
• Golden AMIs and Container Platforms: Oversee the creation and maintenance of "golden" Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) and container images to ensure consistent and secure operating environments. You will also be responsible for the architecture, deployment, and management of our container orchestration platforms, including Amazon EKS. 
• Cloud Network Automation: Drive the automation of cloud networking services, including VPCs, subnets, routing, and security groups, to enable agile and secure application deployment. 
• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a global team of 30-40 high-performing cloud and platform engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, providing career development and growth opportunities for your team members. 
• Customer Focus: Act as the primary interface for our internal customers—the application developers. Gather requirements, solicit feedback, and continuously improve the platform to meet their evolving needs and enhance their productivity. 
• Collaboration & Partnership: Work closely with the CTO to align the cloud platform roadmap with the overall technology strategy. Partner with CI/CD tooling teams to ensure a seamless and automated software delivery pipeline from code commit to production deployment. 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a proven track record of building and managing large-scale cloud platforms. Extensive experience in a senior leadership role, such as a VP or Senior Director of Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a similar domain. 
• Cloud Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Mastery of Infrastructure as Code principles, IaC governance and extensive experience with Terraform. 
• Automation & Self-Service: A demonstrated history of building automated, self-service Docker and Kubernetes, with hands-on experience managing container orchestration platforms like Amazon EKS. 
• Security: A strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, and compliance. 
• Networking: Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts in both AWS and GCP. 
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead, manage, and scale a global engineering team. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills are essential. 
• "Everything as Code" Mindset: A deeply ingrained belief in the power of automation and coding to manage all aspects of the infrastructure and platform
