Role Overview

This role designs and operates enterprise-grade cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, focusing on high availability, scalability, and security. You will own Infrastructure as Code with Terraform at scale, build and run AKS-based container platforms, and implement Git-based workflows with robust CI/CD and release strategies. The engineer drives security, auditability, and compliance controls across cloud environments and leads incident resolution and performance optimization. The position also includes technical leadership, mentoring, and frequent collaboration with client stakeholders and crossfunctional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services across networking, compute, storage, identity, and security
  • Proven track record architecting highly available, scalable, and secure Azure platforms
  • Expert-level Terraform for large-scale infrastructure automation (modules, workspaces, state, pipelines)
  • Strong Kubernetes experience with AKS in production (cluster design, upgrades, scaling, networking)
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes ecosystem tools: Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD (GitOps)
  • Solid understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD best practices
  • Experience with deployment strategies and production-grade release management (blue/green, canary, feature flags)
  • Strong background in cloud security, auditability, and compliance (Azure Policy, RBAC, Key Vault, CIS/ISO)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience; building high-performing teams
  • Client-facing experience managing technical expectations and delivery
  • Preferred: Multi-cloud exposure (AWS/GCP)
  • Preferred: Scripting with Python, Bash, PowerShell; Terraform toolchains
  • Preferred: Azure Landing Zones, CAF, and enterprise governance
  • Preferred: FinOps cost optimization practices
  • Preferred Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert; Azure DevOps Engineer Expert; CKA or other cloud security/networking/platform certs

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement secure, highly available, and scalable Azure landing zones and platforms
  • Develop, maintain, and govern Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (modules, versioning, state, pipelines) for large-scale environments
  • Design, build, and operate AKS clusters and Kubernetes platform services; standardize Helm/Kustomize packaging and GitOps with Argo CD
  • Establish Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines; automate build, test, security scans, and deployments
  • Define and execute production-grade release strategies (blue/green, canary); manage rollback and change control
  • Implement and enforce security, auditability, and compliance controls (Azure Policy, RBAC, Key Vault, network controls)
  • Optimize cloud cost and performance; implement FinOps practices and monitoring/alerting for platform health
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents across infrastructure, platform, and application layers; drive root cause analysis
  • Lead and mentor engineers; set standards, conduct reviews, and build a high-performing DevOps culture
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and manage technical expectations
