Key Responsibilities

Translation & Interpretation

  • Provide verbal and written translation between patients and healthcare providers (e.g., consultations, admission procedures, consent forms, discharge instructions).
  • Translate medical documents, reports, patient records, informational materials, and correspondence while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist international patients in understanding treatment plans, medical terminology, and hospital protocols.

Patient Support & Coordination

  • Welcome and assist international patients upon arrival, guiding them through registration, appointments, and hospital services.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and other departments to ensure effective patient care and communication.
  • Support international desk operations, including scheduling appointments, updating patient files, and arranging follow-up services.

Cultural & Linguistic Mediation

  • Provide culturally appropriate communication and clarify cultural nuances to enhance mutual understanding.
  • Assist in resolving communication barriers and ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Administrative Duties
  • Maintain translation records, ensure timely task completion, and follow organizational procedures.
  • Support international programs, meetings, and events as required.
  • Handle sensitive information in compliance with healthcare confidentiality regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a translator/interpreter, preferably in a healthcare or clinical environment.
  • Excellent command of [Primary Language] and [Target Language(s)]—written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare communication standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail under pressure.
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
