About the Role:

CCIS Green Campus is inviting applications for an organized, resourceful, and student-friendly Librarian. The ideal candidate should be passionate about books, research, and fostering a love for reading among students. They should be able to manage both traditional and digital library resources efficiently while creating a welcoming space for learning and exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school library's daily operations, including cataloguing, issuing, and returning books.
  • Maintain and organize books, journals, digital resources, and reference materials.
  • Assist students and teachers in locating information, books, and learning resources.
  • Promote reading habits through book displays, reading programs, and library activities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, discipline, and a quiet environment in the library.
  • Maintain library records, inventories, and database using library management software.
  • Curate age-appropriate books and resources for different grades.
  • Introduce students to library etiquette, research skills, referencing, and safe digital usage.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support classroom learning and research projects.
  • Plan events like book fairs, author interactions, literary week, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib / MLIS).
  • Strong command of English – spoken and written.
  • Prior experience working in a school library preferred.
  • Knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing methods.
  • Passionate about books, reading, and student engagement.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Patient, approachable, and able to assist young learners effectively.
