Job Title: Librarian
Location: CCIS Green Campus
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
CCIS Green Campus is inviting applications for an organized, resourceful, and student-friendly Librarian. The ideal candidate should be passionate about books, research, and fostering a love for reading among students. They should be able to manage both traditional and digital library resources efficiently while creating a welcoming space for learning and exploration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the school library's daily operations, including cataloguing, issuing, and returning books.
- Maintain and organize books, journals, digital resources, and reference materials.
- Assist students and teachers in locating information, books, and learning resources.
- Promote reading habits through book displays, reading programs, and library activities.
- Ensure proper maintenance, discipline, and a quiet environment in the library.
- Maintain library records, inventories, and database using library management software.
- Curate age-appropriate books and resources for different grades.
- Introduce students to library etiquette, research skills, referencing, and safe digital usage.
- Collaborate with teachers to support classroom learning and research projects.
- Plan events like book fairs, author interactions, literary week, etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib / MLIS).
- Strong command of English – spoken and written.
- Prior experience working in a school library preferred.
- Knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing methods.
- Passionate about books, reading, and student engagement.
- Excellent organization, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Patient, approachable, and able to assist young learners effectively.
