Job Summary

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant (CA) to lead our Indirect Tax team in the firm. The Manager will handle end-to-end indirect tax compliance, advisory, and litigation support for a diverse portfolio of clients across sectors. The role demands strong technical knowledge of GST, Customs, and other indirect taxes, excellent client management skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities1. Client Compliance Management

  • Lead preparation, review, and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C, etc.) for clients
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax compliance schedules across clients
  • Oversee GST reconciliations, ITC verifications, and audit preparedness

2. Advisory & Consultancy

  • Provide expert advice on GST impact on business transactions, supply chain structuring, and contract reviews
  • Assist clients with indirect tax planning, including cross-border transactions and exemptions
  • Support clients in leveraging GST input credits and identifying tax savings

3. Audit & Litigation Support

  • Assist clients in GST audits and department assessments; prepare replies to notices and show cause notices
  • Coordinate with external consultants and legal experts on complex litigations
  • Represent or support clients in tax tribunal hearings, if required

4. Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor junior indirect tax associates and assistants
  • Delegate work efficiently and ensure quality and timely delivery of assignments
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on tax law changes and best practices

5. Business Development Support

  • Support partners in client acquisition and business development activities
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and tax alerts for existing and prospective clients

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) – mandatory
  • 4–7 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax advisory and compliance, preferably in a CA firm or consulting environment
  • Strong understanding of GST laws, Customs duty, and allied indirect taxes
  • Experience managing multiple clients and delivering high-quality services

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in GSTN portal and tax filing software
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software (SAP, Tally Prime) is a plus
  • Good analytical and MS Excel skills
