Lead Product Designer

Namma Yatri is a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform built to empower drivers and provide seamless, frictionless ride experiences for users. We're not just another ride-hailing app — we're reimagining urban mobility from the ground up, with drivers at the center and intuitive design as our backbone.

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Product Designer with 5-7 years experience to join our team. As a design leader, you will drive the vision, strategy, and execution of design initiatives across multiple platforms. You'll collaborate closely with other designers, developers, business leads, city operations managers and product managers to create intuitive, engaging, and impactful experiences for our users.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

● Design Leadership: Define and own the end-to-end product design vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.

● User Experience: Drive research and discovery to deeply understand customer problems and translate them into user-friendly solutions.

● Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to influence product strategy and roadmap.

● Execution: Deliver high-quality design outputs—flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI—across web and mobile platforms.

● Design Systems: Establish and scale design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.

● Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and inspire the design team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

● Advocacy: Champion design thinking within the organisation, promoting a user-centred mindset across teams.

YOUR EXPERIENCE SHOULD SHOWCASE

● 5–7 years of hands-on product design experience (in-house or agency).

● Strong experience with design systems (building or scaling).

● Proven ability to solve complex design problems and communicate solutions via IA, flows, and prototypes.

● Strong skills in documentation, communication, and stakeholder alignment.

● Experience designing for both B2C mobile apps (iOS/Android) and B2B dashboards.

● A user-first mindset, with knowledge of usability, contrast, and accessibility principles.

● High empathy, collaboration skills, openness to feedback, and ability to give constructive critique.

TOOLS EXPERTISE

● Proficiency in Figma.

● Familiarity with prototyping tools (ProtoPie or equivalent) for creating interactions.

● Experience in implementing design tokens or collaborating with engineering teams to build & scale design systems.

BONUS POINTS IF:

● You've addressed audiences on design-related topics or shared your insights through articles or talks.

● You can bring your ideas to life using HTML, CSS, and JS or jam with tools like V0, Cursor, Windsurf or any vibe coding platform(s) to create near-real experiences and speak the language of frontend to collaborate seamlessly with developers.

● You have a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, or Animator side as well to your designer persona.

● Experience working on data-rich interfaces or dashboards for non tech-savvy users.
