CAD Draftsman in a Water and Wastewater Treatment Company — applicable for STP, ETP, RO, UF, and ZLD projects:

1. Drawing Preparation

  • Prepare detailed 2D drawings for civil, mechanical, and process layouts of treatment plants.
  • Draft PFD (Process Flow Diagrams), P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), and GA (General Arrangement) drawings.
  • Create equipment layout, piping layout, and tank/fabrication drawings as per engineering inputs.
  • Develop sectional, isometric, and detailed fabrication drawings for site and vendor use.
  • Update "as-built" drawings after project completion.

2. Coordination with Design Team

  • Work closely with Process, Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineers to convert concepts into accurate CAD drawings.
  • Ensure that drawings reflect the latest revisions and design updates.
  • Maintain coordination between disciplines for clash-free layouts.

3. Drawing Management & Documentation

  • Maintain organized records of all drawings with version control.
  • Ensure compliance with company drawing standards, title block formats, and numbering systems.
  • Support document control for project submissions and client approvals.

4. Site & Vendor Support

  • Prepare site layout and piping routing drawings based on site conditions.
  • Incorporate vendor drawings into final GA layouts.
  • Assist project and site teams with installation drawings and details.

5. Software & Standards

  • Prepare drawings using AutoCAD (2D/3D); knowledge of SolidWorks or Revit is an advantage.
  • Follow IS, ASME, and standard drafting practices.
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy, scaling, and clear labeling on all drawings.

Educational & Skill Requirements

  • Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Civil, or Drafting Engineering.
  • 2–6 years of experience in water/wastewater or industrial plant drafting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks, Revit, or Plant 3D preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Good coordination, communication, and time-management skills.
