Department: Supply Chain Management

Role Overview

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of raw materials (RM) and packaging materials (PM) required for biscuits, chocolates, wafers, and confectionery products. The role demands strong vendor management, cost optimization, quality assurance, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure timely availability of materials aligned with production and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials (e.g., flour, sugar, cocoa, dairy ingredients, oils, emulsifiers) and packaging materials (e.g., foils, cartons, laminates, labels).
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strategic relationships with existing vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, commercial terms, and payment structures to achieve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Monitor commodity price trends and market intelligence to anticipate cost fluctuations and secure best procurement deals.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to support uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Implement quality checks and collaborate with QA & R&D teams to ensure compliance with food safety standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize inventory levels by working closely with supply chain, production planning, and warehouse teams.
  • Manage procurement budgets, MIS reporting, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Drive vendor audits, risk assessment, and supplier performance reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to company's procurement policies, statutory requirements, and sustainability practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain Management / Business Administration / Food Technology or relevant field.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of procurement experience in FMCG/Food industry, preferably in categories like biscuits, chocolates, wafers, or confectionery.
  • Strong knowledge of raw material and packaging material supply markets, especially in food sector.
  • Proven negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement software, and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional coordination abilities.
  • Ability to deliver cost savings while ensuring quality and timely supplies.
