We're looking for a
Senior Software Engineer (Go)
to help design and deliver
scalable, resilient services
that sit at the heart of our mission-critical systems

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who thrives in
distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and high-performance backends
.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver complex features end-to-end
  , from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Act as a technical mentor and collaborator
  , supporting engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge-sharing.
• Develop deep expertise in a core capability area
  (e.g., databases, APIs, observability, event-driven systems) and act as the go-to specialist.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of authentication and authorization patterns
  , security best practices, and modern identity protocols.
• Proactively identify and manage technical debt
  , partnering with the Tech Lead to prioritise improvements and maintain system health.
• Introduce and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and engineering practices
  , helping uplift developer experience and productivity.
• Write high-quality, reliable, and well-tested code
  , with strong attention to maintainability, performance, and security.
• Instrument and monitor services
  , ensuring proper logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting for owned areas.
• Own the quality and reliability of shipped work
  , debugging issues, supporting deployments, and contributing to on-call and incident management where required.
• Work closely with Product and cross-functional partners
  , shaping technical approaches that balance innovation, speed, and engineering excellence.
• Continuously elevate team standards
  , championing clean architecture, automation, testing, and strong engineering fundamentals.
• Manage deployment pipelines and Kubernetes artifacts for owned services
  , ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable operation in production environments.
• Leverage AI-powered tooling and modern development workflows
  to accelerate development, testing, and problem-solving.

Required Experience

• 7+ years as overall product development experience
• 5+ years as strong professional experience with Go in production systems.
• Proven background in
  distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of APIs, concurrency, messaging patterns, and eventual consistency.
• Experience building and deploying on
  Kubernetes with CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with observability practices: logging, metrics, tracing, error monitoring.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, product-led environments with fortnightly release cycles.
• Bonus: experience in pos, payments or hospitality tech.
