Role Overview

Our client is seeking a seasoned and visionary
Director of Engineering
to lead high-performing engineering teams aligned with strategic business functions. The role involves leading the technical delivery, strategy, and team development for the company's Loan Origination System (LOS) and Loan Management System (LMS) platforms.

This high-impact leadership position requires proven experience in building scalable, secure lending systems and the ability to drive innovation while ensuring operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

People

• Build, manage, and mentor diverse, high-performing engineering teams for LOS/LMS.
• Drive hiring, talent development, and performance management with a focus on collaboration and growth.
• Foster team motivation, wellbeing, and retention by modeling empathy, trust, and inclusion.

Product

• Partner with business, product, and compliance leaders to define and prioritize LOS/LMS roadmaps and high-impact features.
• Co-own delivery of business KPIs, including customer experience, system reliability, and process automation.
• Champion innovative lending and post-disbursement solutions suitable for a fast-growing digital ecosystem.

Technology

• Architect robust, scalable, and secure lending platforms leveraging modern cloud, API, and DevOps practices.
• Define and communicate the technical vision, standards, and architecture for LOS/LMS evolution.
• Drive SDLC excellence, automate deployment and QA, and ensure system reliability and uptime.

Execution

• Develop lean, outcome-oriented engineering processes (agile, incident management, OKRs).
• Oversee production stability and continuous improvement of systems.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment with Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams.
• Serve as the technical authority for regulatory readiness, data migration, lending compliance, and security best practices.

Skills & Experience

• Leadership in Scaling Engineering Organizations:
  Proven success in growing and leading diverse, high-performing teams in fast-paced fintech or lending technology environments. Strong focus on talent development and inclusive culture-building.
• Lending Technology Expertise:
  Hands-on experience with LOS/LMS platforms, fintech architecture, credit workflows, and regulatory compliance (preferably in the NBFC or gold loan domain).
• SDLC & DevOps Mastery:
  Expertise across the full Software Development Life Cycle, agile practices, CI/CD, DevOps automation, and production system reliability.
• Strategic & Analytical Mindset:
  Ability to analyze complex lending and risk scenarios, define clear technical visions, and translate them into actionable roadmaps and measurable KPIs.
• Stakeholder Management:
  Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with business, product, compliance, finance, and operations teams, balancing priorities and building consensus.
• Proven 0–1 & Scale-Up Delivery:
  Experience in building early-stage products and scaling platforms to support millions of transactions while ensuring robustness and scalability.
• Business & Financial Acumen:
  Understanding of lending metrics, risk management, and regulatory frameworks, aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
• Technical Depth:
  Strong full-stack engineering background with expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), API design, data architecture, and security best practices.
• Adaptability & Problem Solving:
  Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage high-impact challenges, and pivot swiftly in dynamic environments.
• Agile Governance & Outcomes:
  Experience driving agile sprints, setting OKRs, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
