Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Purchase & Materials Manager from the Paper Packaging, Printing, and Engineering industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing procurement, vendor development, and materials planning processes to ensure uninterrupted production and cost optimization. The role requires strong negotiation skills, hands-on experience with technical materials sourcing, knowledge of ISO processes, and experience working with machinery, raw materials, consumables, spares, and packaging components relevant to the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complete procurement and material planning cycle including raw materials (kraft paper, duplex board, inks, adhesives, consumables), spare parts, engineering components, and capex purchases.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers relevant to the paper packaging, printing, and engineering sector to support business expansion and supply stability.
  • Conduct supplier audits, vendor capability assessments, and maintain vendor rating systems.
  • Ensure strict compliance with ISO and other quality management system requirements, maintaining documentation and assisting during internal and external audits.

· Negotiate prices, contracts, technical specifications, lead times, and payment terms to meet cost and quality objectives.

· Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, quality, stores, and finance teams to ensure availability of materials in line with production schedules.

· Monitor purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, follow-up deliveries, and ensure timely GRN and invoice closure.

· Maintain accurate procurement MIS, cost analysis, inventory records, and supplier databases.

· Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality and operational requirements.

· Address supply chain disruptions and resolve vendor-related issues to maintain continuity in production and materials flow.

· Suggest and implement improvements in procurement processes, material inventory control, and sourcing strategies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Industry-specific sourcing knowledge (paper grades, printing consumables, adhesives, inks, tapes, machinery spares, etc.)
  • Experience in vendor development and vendor performance assessment.
  • Strong understanding of ISO processes and documentation.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office applications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination abilities

· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering OR

· Bachelor's Degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Materials Management
