What you'll build

SAP is evolving its API Platform with significant investments in API-led Integration, Intelligent API Ops – Machine Learning based anomaly detection and remediation, Kubernetes based Provisioning, and in best-in-class experience to explore, discover and consume the APIs via API Marketplace.

To drive this evolution and innovation, we are looking for enthusiastic Performance expert, who are passionate about customers, technology, and product experience, and can join us in our journey to provide the best-in-class API-led Integration Suite and help every customer to become a best-run business. You will be responsible for the end-to-end quality-related activities, with a special focus on performance & scalability test-related tasks within the product creation and maintenance process. Furthermore, support design of a detailed test design incl. test system landscape definition, implement and execute manual and/or automated tests according to the Customer quality and test strategy, are an integral part of your daily work.

What you bring:

As a Senior Performance Engineer, your role will extend beyond executing performance tests. You will be responsible for designing and engineering performance testing flows and providing actionable recommendations to the development team to enhance the efficiency and reliability of our cloud-based systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Design and Develop Automated Performance Tests: Create and implement automated performance tests for cloud-based system software in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Continuous Integration and Profiling: Develop and use tools and frameworks to build and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Profiling processes, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality code delivery.
• Non-Functional Test Case Development: Create, review, and execute non-functional test cases for new features and regression test types, focusing on performance, scalability, and endurance.
• End-to-End Scenario Design: Contribute to designing, developing, and validating customer-like end-to-end enterprise/system scenarios, embracing a DevOps culture to enhance product reliability and performance.
• Load Testing: Perform load tests to validate our products for performance, scalability, endurance, etc., ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
• Performance Monitoring and Metrics: Oversee system performance, identify key metrics for performance improvements, and define and establish product sizing/KPIs to optimize system behaviour.
• Quality Assurance Advocacy: Demonstrate excellent quality, design, engineering, automation, and delivery skills. Troubleshoot, profile, and perform root cause analyses (RCAs) to suggest corrective actions, advocating for stronger quality assurance practices.

Key Competencies:

• Performance Testing and Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in performance test and monitoring automation tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, SUPA, Rational, Kibana, Grafana, etc., is essential.
• CI/CD Integration: Strong working knowledge of Jenkins and its integration with tests is necessary.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
• Web Protocols and Technologies: Strong understanding of web protocols (HTTP/HTTPS), JSON, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, REST/ODATA, Git, GitHub, Gerrit, and PostgreSQ.
• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• DevOps and CI/CD Concepts: Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD delivery concepts is an advantage.
• Core Development Skills: Experience with Core Java, Maven, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, JavaScript) is beneficial.
• Automation Frameworks: Experience with automation frameworks like Selenium and TestNG is an advantage.

Role Requirements:

• Engineering degree (BTech/ MTech) in Computer Science or a related subject with Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 7 - 10 years of relevant Industry & hands-on domain experience as Performance Engineer/Tester
• Good understanding of automation testing methodologies in testing enterprise complex product stacks.
• Strong expertise in performance test/monitoring tools like LoadRunner &JMeter is mandatory as an optional Rational Dynatrace, etc.,
• Proficiency in smart & effective test/system design, research oriented to read & derive from test results
• Proficient knowledge & expertise with automation tool & CI/CD
• Willingness to "go the extra mile" to ensure the highest quality of experience for our customers
• Team player with excellent communication skills
