About The Opportunity
An on-site role within the eye care and ophthalmology sector, serving outpatients, surgical patients and diagnostic services in Ambawadi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The facility delivers comprehensive ophthalmic diagnostics, outpatient consultations and surgical support with a focus on patient-centred care and efficient clinic operations.
We are hiring a Front Desk Reception professional to own patient-facing workflows, appointment management and day-to-day administrative operations at our Ambawadi eye hospital.
Role & Responsibilities
- Welcome and register patients at the front desk; verify identity and collect required medical history for ophthalmology consultations.
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations and walk-ins using the clinic's appointment system; coordinate follow-ups and reminders.
- Operate multi-line phone system to triage incoming calls, provide basic clinical information, route urgent enquiries to clinicians and handle patient queries.
- Maintain and update electronic patient records (EMR); ensure accuracy of demographic, insurance and clinical documentation.
- Process payments, issue receipts, initiate basic billing tasks and coordinate insurance verification/authorization as needed.
- Coordinate between outpatient clinics, diagnostic labs and theatre schedules; ensure timely patient flow and escalate issues to nursing/administrative leads.

Qualifications
- Prior experience at a hospital or clinic front desk, preferably in ophthalmology or outpatient specialties.
- Comfortable working on-site in Ambawadi, Ahmedabad with shift flexibility for clinic hours.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; on-the-job training available for the right candidate.
