Senior Software Engineer

Primary Key Responsibilities (Top 3-5 KRA)

• Develop scalable analytical solutions for investment/research teams across the department in an agile development environment.
• Participate in the development of solutions end-to-end and see it through until it reaches the end customer. Sometimes this will encompass requirements gathering, data modelling, data integration, and software engineering.
• Refactor any existing processes where efficiencies can be gained.
• Essential monitoring of deadlines to ensure solutions are delivered in a timely manner

Additional Responsibilities :

• Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
• Work across multiple asset classes across the Private Markets Research function, eg Private Placements, Infradebt, ABS, Social Housing.
• Works within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems
• Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them 
• Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Knowledge & Skills (Must Have) :

• Strong software engineering skills paired with expertise in some of the following programming languages: Python, PySpark, VBA
• Basic data engineering skills  with knowledge of how to best use the entire Azure suite of packages
• Relevant experience developing end-to-end solutions entirely driven by user requirements.
• Knowledge of the different asset classes and underlying investment credit analysis process is advantageous
• Applying a "solutions" mentality for any outcome that you are assigned to and ensure proper solutions design is considered. 
• Ensure data quality by monitoring performance, diagnosing issues, and creating solutions
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, within a project team
• Ability to identify problems and have the drive to follow them through to resolution
• Excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and work efficiently to project deadlines

Experience:

• 4/5 years of total experience in a coding environment with exposure to applications within a financial context

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate in any discipline
