Business Analyst – Commercial real estate

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst to join our growing team and play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our CRE & Construction loan origination and administration platform. You will be a key bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, and the technology team, ensuring that our solutions meet the evolving needs of our customers in the commercial real estate market.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for CRE & Construction loan origination and post-closing administration (including draw management and disbursement processes).
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and surveys with stakeholders to understand their needs and pain points.
Translate business needs into clear, concise, and testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
Product Development & Enhancement:
Collaborate with product owners to define product vision, roadmap, and release plans.
- Contribute to the design and development of new features and functionalities for our loan origination and administration platform.
Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and automation.
Construction Loan Monitoring Expertise:
Develop a deep understanding of construction loan processes, including budget management, draw requests, inspections, and disbursements.
Ensure the system accurately reflects industry best practices and regulatory requirements for construction loan administration.
Documentation and Communication:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flows, data dictionaries, and user manuals.
- Effectively communicate requirements and product updates to stakeholders across different departments.
- Collaborate closely with developers and QA testers to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on commercial real estate lending.
- Deep understanding of CRE & Construction loan products, including origination, underwriting, closing, and post-closing administration.
- Hands-on experience with construction loan monitoring and draw management processes.
- Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Bachelors degree in business, Finance, or a related field.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with loan origination systems (LOS).
- Familiarity with construction lending software and technologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to CRE & Construction lending.
