Role Description:
The Treasury Manager - Back Office will oversee key Treasury processes, in particular, and not limited to Banking Administration (KYC Management, Signatory Management and Audit Support) and as well as Electronic Banking Administration (User Access Management, Banking Platform Management and Access Governance & Compliance) and other Treasury operational areas for BKNG Treasury. Due to the continuous growth and evolution of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role will change and evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and challenge yourself to take on additional responsibilities as required.
In particular, you will oversee the daily administration of bank accounts, inclusive of the process for administering and managing access rights across supporting banking platforms within a global organization, spanning over 70 countries. As we strive to make it easier for everyone to experience the world, our banking capabilities are continuously expanding. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring robust governance in bank account setup, user access management, ensuring that assigned roles, permissions and appropriate access levels are provided and managed while managing compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements from banking partners, mandates and signatory updates. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with and effectively managing diverse internal and external stakeholders, maintaining or designing new processes, identifying and implementing automation, leveraging technologies and identifying opportunities to streamline and consolidate current bank administration procedures in alignment with established business and Sarbanes-Oxley (SoX) controls. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape our newly formed team in Center of Excellence (CoE) India and a robust reporting framework to support our global banking products, services and Treasury operations in general.
You will be an integral part of the Treasury team, working in close collaboration with the Banking and Mid Office teams, as well as other sub functions of BKNG Treasury. The ideal candidate will demonstrate impeccable teamwork, coordination, high attention to detail and relationship management skills, coupled with tenacity and drive for successful BAU and project execution. Objectives necessitate cross-functional partnerships, encompassing areas such as KYC, Legal, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Compliance, and Financial Crime landscapes (Regulatory, Legal, Risk & Control, Financial Crime), requiring effective engagement with experts and stakeholders in each domain.
You will serve as a trusted leader in our global set-up, excelling in a global environment that champions excellence, demands integrity, cultivates trust, and nurtures collaboration and partnership.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Treasury Specialists responsible for the execution of underlying operational activities attaching to these processes. You will manage the allocation and performance of operational and project based work streams and ensure the ongoing personal development of your direct reports.
B. Responsible
- Lead the team: Guide and mentor a team of Specialists, responsible for the daily operations that is spread internationally across all regions; ensure compliance with Banking KYC requirements, bank mandates, signatory management and the execution of global user access management across banking platforms.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and build strong cross-functional partnership with key stakeholders across Finance, Risk & Controls, Legal, Tax and Leadership Team Business Partners to ensure effective management of all bank KYC requests and mandate updates through defined roles and processes.
- Innovate & Optimize: Continuously enhance our operational processes, driving alignment and adoption across all stakeholders with automation and drive system improvements leveraging technology.
- Performance Excellence: Actively track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with the end to end Back Office processes.
- Governance: Develop and refine our internal and external operating processes and rules of engagement with Banks and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge Sharer: Train and advise internal teams on best practices for data sharing, collection, and document management across diverse jurisdictions.
- Centralized Command: Establish streamlined processes with our key banking partners for KYC renewals and mandate updates, with robust governance and regular reviews.
- Compliance Champion: Ensure strict adherence to business and SoX controls, keeping all our process narratives and controls meticulously updated.
- Electronic Banking Management (EBAM): Perform and oversee the creation and management of role based access rights in banking portals ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks.
- Audit Support: Support annual bank confirmations and audit inquiries, acting as the go-to expert and troubleshooting any service delivery issues. In accordance with SOX controls, prepare and perform the quarterly access review process to verify accurate user provisioning and deprovisioning in banking platforms, leading control attestation procedures, testing and validation with Risk & Control and audit functions.
- Treasury Operations: support BKNG Treasury in other key Treasury operational topics/ initiatives such as (but not limited to) cash management and forecasting, reporting and analysis, Treasury compliance, Trade Finance and process improvements as required. These are performed in close coordination with BKNG Treasury and Finance teams.
B. Skills
- People Leader: Minimum 5+ years experience leading and developing a team; operating in an international environment across APAC, EMEA and Americas. Experience in developing Treasury teams and Treasury processes.

- Complex Navigator: You thrive in dynamic, intricate environments, driving alignment and collaboration across diverse regional and global partners at all seniority levels. You effortlessly liaise with multiple functional teams (Treasury, Accounting, Legal, Risk & Control, Tax, FP&A, external counsel, etc.).
- Control & Compliance Expert: extensive experience in applying and working with agreed procedures and (SOX) controls in line with Risk Management Frameworks.
- Banking KYC: Experience in managing bank KYC requests across jurisdictions with knowledge in AML and FinCrime.
- (Banking) Portal Administration: Experience with managing and performing system administrator roles relevant treasury portals and online banking platforms
- Global Communicator: Fluent in English, able to lead discussions and agreements with ease across multiple different seniorities including VPs and SVPs.
- Relationship Architect: Experienced in managing multiple stakeholder relationships spread across the regions with an ability to influence and drive alignment.
- Culturally Agile: You adapt your style to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Banking partners).
