Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in tool and die making preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a related precision machining role.
  • Apprenticeship certification or journeyman status is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
  • Skilled in the use of manual and CNC machinery, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines.
  • Ability to operate precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Experience with tool and die fabrication, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of materials (e.g., metals, alloys) used in die and mold making.
  • Understanding of heat treating, surface grinding, and other finishing processes.

Soft Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to shop safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or shop-floor environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or medical manufacturing environments.
