Job Description – Tool Room Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tool Room Manager with 9+ years of expertise in Press Tools, Press Components, Plastic Injection Moulding, Stamping Tools, and Sheet Metal. The role involves overseeing tool room operations, leading a team of machinists, ensuring tool quality, maintaining preventive maintenance schedules, and supporting production requirements with best-in-class tooling solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and supervise tool room operations to ensure uninterrupted production support.

Apply expertise in Progressive Dies, Standard Tools, Modular Tools, Surface Grinding, Jig Boring and modern tool room practices.

Plan and execute tool manufacturing, machining processes, and production schedules.

Monitor press tools, stamping tools, plastic injection moulds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges with preventive maintenance systems.

Oversee Press Tool production planning, stamping line audits (IATF & ISO), and maintain accurate process documentation.

Coordinate with production and cross-functional teams to ensure quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency.

Implement and monitor tool room inventory, maintenance logs, and computerized tracking systems.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives (SMED, 5S, Lean practices, OEE monitoring) to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

Train, mentor, and develop tool room staff, fostering a high-performing and motivated team culture.

Troubleshoot tooling issues, conduct design reviews, and support new product/tool development.
