Junior Design Engineer

Job Summary:

The Junior Design Engineer is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and optimization of product designs, focusing on technical drawings, material nesting, and supporting new product development initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the R&D team, production, and purchase departments to ensure the accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion of design and engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Creating Drawings for Existing Machines

2. Develop and update technical drawings for existing machines used in water purifier production, ensuring that they align with operational and manufacturing standards.

3. Ensure the accuracy and quality of all drawings to facilitate smooth production and ease of maintenance.

4. Regularly review and refine designs to improve their functionality, manufacturability, and efficiency.

5. Creating Nesting for SS Sheets

6. Prepare precise nesting layouts for stainless steel sheets based on purchase team requests.

7. Optimize material usage in nesting layouts to reduce waste and improve cost-efficiency.

8. Ensure the nesting plans are in line with production requirements and material constraints, supporting both operational and budget goals.

9. New Projects and Product Development

10. Actively contribute to new projects within the product development roadmap.

11. Collaborate with senior R&D engineers and other teams in the ideation, development, and testing of new products, ensuring that they meet the company's quality and operational standards.

12. Participate in design reviews, prototype testing, and the iterative design process to refine and optimize new products.

13. Confidentiality and Integrity

14. Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of work, particularly in the development of new projects and product innovations.

15. Handle proprietary information, designs, and developments with care, ensuring compliance with company policies regarding confidentiality and intellectual property.

17. Focus on improving the speed of execution of design tasks without compromising on quality.

18. Strive for continuous improvement in design processes, ensuring that designs are delivered on time and meet all required specifications.

19. Collaboration with Purchase and Production Teams

20. Actively engage with the purchase and production teams to ensure that drawings, nesting plans, and designs meet operational and manufacturing requirements.

21. Work closely with these teams to incorporate feedback and adjust designs as necessary to align with practical constraints.

22. Adherence to Standards and Deadlines

23. Ensure that all drawings, nesting plans, and other assigned tasks are completed on time and meet the required technical and quality standards.

24. Follow company protocols and standards for design documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all deliverables.

25. Support for Prototype and Testing

26. Assist in creating prototypes or models based on the design, and help conduct tests to verify that the designs meet performance, durability, and safety standards.

27. Analyze test results and collaborate with the team head to iterate and improve designs based on testing feedback.

28. Other Duties as Assigned

29. Support other engineering tasks as required by the senior R&D team, contributing to the smooth execution of product development projects.

30. Assist in preparing design-related reports, documentation, and presentations for internal reviews and discussions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in design and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools).
• Basic understanding of material science, particularly with metals like stainless steel, and their applications in manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality designs.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchase, production, and senior R&D engineers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and design techniques.
• Knowledge of design principles, manufacturing processes, and cost optimization techniques.

Familiarity with product lifecycle management and documentation standards is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15, ₹20,000.00 per month
